The Region 7 2008
Odyssey of the Mind Tournament took place on Saturday, March 1st,
2008 on the Mohonasen High School/Middle School Campus.
Our appreciation
goes to Dr. Kathleen Spring, Superintendent, Mohonasen School District
as well as to the Mohonasen School District Board of Education and the
Mohonasen High and Draper Middle School monitors and custodial staff,
all of whom made this tournament possible.
We also thank Lori Ranze, the Mohonasen coordinator, who worked
hard to collaborate with our staff to ensure that every detail was
covered in the smooth running of the tournament!
There are a lot of other
people to thank as well;
Odyssey head judges and judges - all one hundred of you. Thanks
again for your commitment to the teams and the tournament. You gave
up time to be trained as well as devoting a full day to judging. You
are terrific!
----------------------------------------------
Odyssey volunteers - you
registered teams, gave building directions, guarded the doors, sold
merchandise, picked up the scores. You are vital to the running of
the tournament.
---------------------------------------------
Team coaches, parents and
school districts - you support your kids and make their
participation possible.

We are pleased to
announce the winner of the Region 7 2nd Annual Pin
Design Contest!
And the winner is ...
Andrew Butryn, a 5th grade student at Paige
Elementary School, Schenectady School District.
Andrew's winning pin design is shown below, and he
wrote:
"To me, Odyssey of the Mind means to think and be
creative. I used light bulbs that mean thinking. I
used a gold star to mean you did a good job. I used
lots of colors because I wanted to make a creative
decoration. That is my pin."

Andrew, his teammates
and coaches received a complimentary pin at the
awards ceremony after the Tournament. The pin was
also available for purchase at the Sales
Table in the High School, and is still available -
see pin posting above. Congratulations Andrew!
