Shared Service
with
Schenectady School of Fine Arts
The Schenectady School of Fine Arts offers a breadth of high
school sequence courses in Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts and Music not
available in most other area districts. This program includes extensive
integration of professional artists into their high school arts curriculum.
Through collaboration between Capital Region BOCES and
Schenectady School of Fine Arts, a shared service has been established for
districts to send interested students to the Schenectady School of Fine Arts
and receive BOCES Aid. This shared service provides home districts with
additional options for students who desire to pursue a more advanced level
of study at the sequence level of the Learning Standards for The Arts.
Schenectady School of Fine Arts is a House or Small Learning
Community at Schenectady High School. It functions as a school within a
school at Schenectady High School .It integrates Regents high school
coursework with an interdisciplinary focus in both the visual and performing
arts. Its purpose is to provide a rigorous academic program with consistent
opportunities for students to explore the fine arts for future academic,
